There are several types of heating systems that can be used to keep your home or business warm in the winter. While there are various heating system options, heat pumps and electrical heat can be extremely suitable for South Florida.
Heat PumpsA heat pump is a mechanical-compression cycle refrigeration system that can be reversed to either heat or cool a controlled space. A compressor circulates refrigerant that absorbs and releases heat as it travels between the indoor and outdoor units. When it's cold outside a heat pump extracts this outside heat and transfers it inside. When it’s warm outside, it reverses directions and acts like an air conditioner, removing heat from your home. One advantage of a heat pump is that it moves heat instead of generating heat, giving you more energy efficiency.

Electrical HeatElectrical heat is commonly installed with new air handler (inside unit) systems during installation of equipment. Heat is generated from electric through heating strips and elements placed above blower wheel housing. As air is moved over heating strips it is distributed throughout the structure were air duct supply drops are located. Electric heat is very common and efficient for system use.
